Te Rōpū Raranga o Manaia are a group of weavers who enjoy getting together to weave, learn from each other and to support whānau. We especially appreciate the support we receive from Wellington Tenths Trust and the Palmerston North Māori Reserve Trust who provide us with a stunning venue at Hīkoikoi as well as kaumātua support.
Te Rōpū Raranga o Manaia
Our Vision is to promote cultural and social wellbeing of the Taranaki whānui through the traditional and contemporary practice of Raranga Toi Māori.
Our rōpū gatherings are open to whānau of all ages who are interested in learning or practicing raranga in a safe and supportive environment. We also welcome manuhiri weavers requiring a supportive raranga environment who are willing to contribute to iwi projects and learn iwi history and tikanga.
We meet at Hīkoikoi, Whare Manaia, 24d Marine Parade, Petone on most Thursday nights from 6pm to 9pm. We also hold weekend noho throughout the year and advise our rōpū members of these dates via our closed Facebook page.

Te Rōpū Raranga o Manaia was established in 2010 to promote, develop and grow the practice of raranga by:
- Providing access, free participation and learning to whānau
- Support iwi with raranga taonga as required
- Promote iwi mana whenua history and tikanga
